Gallatin River Cleanup
August 27 - August 30
Calling all river-lovers to take action and give back to the Gallatin River Watershed
Help keep the Gallatin clean! For the second year in a row, the Gallatin River Task Force and the Gallatin Watershed Council are teaming up to clean up the river.
Volunteers will fan out across the watershed from Yellowstone National Park to Belgrade, collecting trash at popular access points along the river. Teams will then deposit that trash at central collection points and we’ll weigh what we find to see if we can beat last year’s total of over 1,000 pounds.
This year, we’ll be keeping group sizes smaller and increasing the time folks have to participate. The cleanup will launch on Thursday, August 27 and run through August 30. Collection points are to be determined.
If you’re interested in leading a team, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. The Task Force will coordinate cleanups between the Park boundary and Spanish Creek, and GWC will lead the lower-river effort.
Individuals can also collect on their own and drop their trash at collection points in Big Sky or the Gallatin Valley. Please reach out with any questions.
See you on the river!
