Fly Fishing Camp 2020
July 13-16, Big Sky
For one week every summer, we partner with local guides to offer youth fly-fishing camps in the Big Sky area. In addition to fly-fishing skills, campers learn about hatches, trout behavior, river dynamics, and much more. For many, this is the first step of many in a lifetime of river stewardship.
Starting Monday, July 13, we will be running two daily sessions, one for beginners and one for intermediates. The beginner session starts at 8:30am and runs until 12:30pm. Intermediate campers will start at 1:30pm and fish until 5:30pm. Each group will consist of 12 campers, ages ranging from 8 to 13, with campers aging up or down based on experience levels.
Campers will fish locations throughout the Upper Gallatin Watershed, including the South Fork, West Fork, and main stem of the Gallatin River.
Given current public-health guidelines, things will look a little different at camp this summer. We are currently developing our protocols for keeping campers and counselors safe; we will provide updates to registrants as summer progresses.
